LEAGUE RULES 2010/11
Introduction
1. Sixteen teams will participate in season 2010/11, split into two divisions of eight teams.
2. Points will be given in accordance with the Fantasy League scoring system.
3. The top three teams in the second division at the end of the season will replace the bottom three teams in the first division for the following season.
4. Fantasy League will enter the team that finishes top of the first division in the following season's European Cup competition. Fantasy League will enter the teams that finish in second and third place in the first division in the following season's UEFA Cup competition.
5. All sixteen will be entered by Fantasy League in the Fantasy League Professional Cup competition and will compete against qualifiers from other comparable leagues.
6. A Knockout Cup competition, over two legs, will be contested by all sixteen teams, based on the results of league matches for weeks as determined.
7. A Chairman's Cup competition will be contested also based on the results of league matches for weeks as determined. First of all the competition will be on the basis of two leagues of 8 teams, drawn from four teams from the first division and four teams from the second division, playing each other twice. The top two from each league will then play off in a two-leg knockout semi-final, with the top team in one league paired with the runner-up from the other. The final will also be played over two legs.
8. All teams will participate, free of charge, in the FA Cup League competition for each division, run by Fantasy League, based on the points which players obtain whilst playing in FA Cup matches. The winners will be the team securing the most points from the combined divisions.
9. Gold medals will be given to the winners in each division of the league; silver medals will be given to the winners of both cup competitions and a bronze medal will be given to the winners of the FA Cup League. A further bronze medal will be given to the team that scores the most goals over the season from the combined divisions.
10. Where teams finish with the same number of points in the league competitions, or after both legs of the Knock-out Cup competition the placings will be decided by a count-back system using, firstly, goals scored. If that should fail to determine placings, most assists will be used followed by clean sheets and followed by least goals conceded.
11. Where teams finish with the same number of points in the league stage of the Chairman's Cup placings will be decided on the difference in match points for and against. If that should fail to determine placings the arrangements as set out in rule 10 will apply.
12. Any relevant details received from Fantasy League that do not appear on the Fantasy League web site will be posted on our own web site – www.hornyslobs.co.uk. All managers will accept the decisions of Fantasy League and no disputes will be entertained.
Squad Size and Team Formation
13. Each manager must always retain a squad of 15 players of which 11 must conform to any of the team formations permitted by Fantasy League, i.e.: -
GK FB CB MID STK
1 2 2 3 3
1 2 2 4 2
1 2 3 3 2
1 2 2 5 1
1 2 3 4 1
14. No manager may have more than two players from any one club and only one player from any one club may be obtained during the bidding process. If a player subsequently changes club to one that would render the manager being in breach of this rule, the manager will determine which player to release. In such circumstances and subject to rule 15 that manager will have a free selection from the transfer pool in advance of that week’s transfer bids and the player selected will assume the value of the player being released for any future transfer. Where two or more managers have a free selection the manager releasing the highest value player will have priority in selecting a player.
15. Where a manager has a free selection as a result of a player changing clubs after the deadline day for the first round of bidding and before the first week of transfer bids on 17th August, that free selection must be made from the 'players list' available from Fantasy League on the deadline day for the first round of bidding and after the bidding process has been completed. Where a manager has a free selection as a result of a player changing clubs during the August or January transfer window, that free selection must be made from the transfer pool of those players who were available for transfer in the previous week’s transfer bidding.
16. Individual managers will decide team formations, within those permitted by Fantasy League.
17. After the bidding process has been completed managers will not be restricted to the number of defenders and midfielders within their squad but will not, however, be able to have more than two goalkeepers and four strikers.
Assembling Your Squad
18. There will be unlimited rounds of bidding for each division. Each manager will be allocated a notional sum of £80 million to spend in the bidding. The 'players list' available from Fantasy League on the deadline day for the first round of bids will be the one used for all rounds of bidding and any players added to that list will only be available from Tuesday, 17th August 2010.
19. Bidding forms for the first round will be sent out by Saturday, 17th July to be returned only by e-mail to transferbid@aol.com no later than 8.00 p.m. on Monday, 19th July. All managers will be required to submit bids in the first round of bidding. In the event of bids not being received from a manager, for whatever reason, a process will be put in place whereby that manager will be regarded as having made the same bids as bids from an equivalent manager in the other division.
20. Bidding forms for the next round will be sent out by Tuesday, 20th July to be returned only by e-mail to transferbid@aol.com no later than 8.00 p.m. on Thursday, 22nd July.
21. Bidding forms for the following round will be sent out by Friday, 23rd July to be returned only by e-mail to transferbid@aol.com no later than 8.00 p.m. on Sunday, 25th July.
22. Bidding forms for any subsequent rounds will be sent out at the Chairman’s discretion.
23. During the rounds of bidding managers shall bid for up to fifteen players, of whatever sum the manager considers appropriate, of which the bids must be for one goalkeeper, three full-backs, three centre-backs, five midfielders, and three strikers. No more than one player from the same club may be bid for. Bids must be in multiples of £0.1m, with that being the minimum, and must be entered (on the form provided) in decimals of millions e.g. £0.7m, £6.2m, £13.8m etc. There will be no free players.
24. If only one manager submits a bid for a particular player that bid, no matter the amount, will secure that player and the amount bid will be deducted from the manager's £80m.
25. Where more than one manager submits a bid for a player the highest bid will secure that player and the appropriate amount will be deducted.
26. If two or more managers submit bids for the same amount there will be no sale and the player concerned will be available in subsequent bidding rounds.
27. Any manager submitting a bid that, in total, exceeds the permitted £80m will only be able to retain players that no other manager has bid for.
28. Any manager submitting a bid that does not conform to the positions that managers may bid for, as set out in Rule 23, will forfeit all bids for the offending position.
29. After the bidding process has been completed managers will be allocated a further £60m and will be able to bid for players in accordance with the following section. Any money not spent in the bidding will be added to the manager's funds.
Substitutions and Transfers
30. Substitutions may be made for any match with any number of substitutions being made. Managers will make substitutions themselves through the Fantasy League web site.
31. Managers may exchange players with other managers on their own agreement in accordance with the weekly transfer process, such exchange to be notified to the Chairman.
32. Managers may transfer players from their squad by bidding for players who are in the 'pool' of players using funds available.
33. Such funds will accumulate in accordance with Rule 29 and from the value of any player being returned to the 'pool' of players.
34. Players returned to the 'pool' will realise the value paid for that player when bought.
35. Any player returned to the 'pool' will be available for purchase again when his name appears on the 'free agents' list on the Fantasy League web site.
36. Bids for a player may be of any amount and will go to the highest bidder. In the event of more than one manager bidding the same sum, the player will go to the manager currently lowest placed in the league. If Fantasy League has produced no league table, lots will be drawn to decide.
37. Managers may submit up to six bids each week and all successful bids will be irrevocable.
38. Bids must be submitted to the Chairman, by e-mail to transferbid@aol.com by 9.00 a.m. on a Tuesday. Successful bids will take effect from the following weekend.
39. If a manager would end up with three players from the same club as a result of transfer dealings, the transfer will be void.
40. Managers must notify the Chairman which player(s) they are proposing to return to the 'pool' of players by e-mail to transferbid@aol.com by 8.00 p.m. on the Wednesday following the successful bid.
41. Transfers may be made from Tuesday, 17th August 2010.
42. The Chairman shall retain the right to determine weeks when it would not be practicable for transfers to be made. Prior notice of any such weeks will be given.
43. The Chairman will give details of weekly transfers through our own web site.
44. There will be a transfer deadline of Tuesday 29th March 2011, after which managers may submit just one transfer bid each week until the end of the season and no players may be swapped between managers.
